Cornelius, NC – December 8, 2015 – State Senator Jeff Tarte sent a letter today to his supporters confirming his plan to seek reelection to the North Carolina State Senate. Included in the letter were endorsements from well over 100 local, county, and statewide elected officials including US Senators Richard Burr and Thom Tillis, plus every Republican NC state Senator. Senator Tarte hopes to serve a third term representing residents in the 41st Senate District.
“My desire is to be a pragmatic voice of reason in what often appears to be legislative chaos, drowning in the noise of ideological debate. Being fiscally responsible while governing with conservative principals has delivered proven results, whether it be through fixing the flawed 2011 property tax revaluation, turning a $2B state budget deficit into a $400M surplus, or getting all the teachers at a school in my district health care coverage, I am committed to trying to do good for my constituents and all North Carolinians” said Tarte after sharing his list of endorsements. “I believe some of my hallmarks are my accessibility to constituents, media, and colleagues, as well as listening to and treating respectfully, people who have different ideas and opinions from my own. I am excited as we gear up for this campaign better organized than ever.”
Tarte’s Campaign Chairman Greg Wessling, COO of The Lake Norman Company and a retired Lowe’s executive stated, “The Lake Norman Region and North Carolina as a whole have directly benefited from Senator Jeff Tarte’s leadership. Senator Tarte helped the taxpayers of Mecklenburg County recover over 87 million dollars to date in improperly charged property taxes. His work on the state level has moved North Carolina to the 2nd best state to operate a business and build a career. We as a community look forward to sending Senator Tarte back to Raleigh in 2017.”
A 23-year resident of Cornelius, N.C. Senator Jeff Tarte was elected to three terms as Mayor of Cornelius before being elected to the Senate in 2012. A former partner at Ernst and Young, Senator Tarte has started several small businesses. He is a co-founder and retired CEO from Applied Revenue Analytics, an international health care consulting firm. He is also an owner of ZennValve and Hydronomics, commercial and residential water valve companies respectfully. He and his wife, Dr. Nancy Tarte attend Davidson United Methodist Church and have three grown children.
